MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 Problems started with BatteryAlternator warning light

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 2001 e320 4MATIC ISSUES

On my way home from work today in about one inch of snow covered roads my 4 matic seems to not be working. It seems as though only rear wheels working. Rear wheels spun and I fishtailed coming up my street a fairly steep hill. All the while my ESP light flashing. Check BAS light then came on. I reset by moving steering wheel to one side then another and BAS light now out. But traction still stinks.

Tires are the same Contis Ive used on car for last several years with no problem. Problem is front wheels dont want to engage...I got myself into a nice level packed snow parking lot this morning. Step on it hard and back wheels break loose & spinfront wheels do nothing all while ESP light flashing on dash. The first time this happened to me yesterday the BAS warning came up on dash ( the warning

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 2001 e320 no horn no multi function button

I have a 2001 e320. The horn would not work as well as the multi function buttons on the steering wheel. Also on start up the instrument display SRS light never comes on indicating a fault in the system. Also note that the passenger side airbag off light remains illuminated. I checked the horns with an alternate 12 volt supply fuses were good (changed them anyway) Changed the horn relay then the Clock

Just to be clear. The steering angle sensor can be bad and still reset the stability faults after replacing battery to the system by turning the steering wheel full left and right Also interesting. The mercedes dealer diagnostic test returned a fault code for the passenger seat airbag weight sensor ( the air bag off light was on all the time) and the SRS display warning light did not come on ever.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 2001 E320 4MATIC Wagon - Vibration and Harmonic Balancer Questions

I am heading to the mechanic tomorrow. Two weeks ago I had the motor mounts and transmission mount replaced. Its much better but what is left is a very fine vibration. My Android vibration sensor says 28 Hz in D with emergency brake on much less in P-N. Sensor returns same readings in every seat on top of the engine and the roof of the car. As I sit in the drivers seat its like a mild joy buzzer sensation.

Since youre considering DIYing this job I thought Id put this together for you. It doesnt supplant any other information on the forum just consolidates it. Tools...if you have none youll need a 38 ratchet metric sockets a set of torx and E-torx sockets and a 12 breaker bar with 17mm socket (with a short extension this will also work for lug bolts...keep it in the car lots better than the crummy MB
