NISSAN MAXIMA 99 Max SE-L manual tranny 1706 PNP fault code

Anyone ever picked up a 1706 code before with a manual tranny Its a 99 Max SE-L with roughly 175000 miles - original clutch if that matters. Its been pulling this code for a while now. FSM doesnt give a whole lot of info regarding signs and symptoms of a bad PNP switchsensor in a manual tranny car. The local dealership service department told me that its impossible - manual tranny doesnt have one.

I am sorry this isnt an answer to your problem. But I am having what seems to be the exact same problem with my 2000 maxima se 5 sp. Same 1706 code reading and stalls sometimes after it is warm. If I leave the AC on it doesnt stall. Also about the same time as the light came on the clutch line leaked the fluid out of the mastercylinder. I cant see how this could be related but it happened at the same

I am sorry I cant help with the error code however I am glad to see the original poster says he has a Maxima with an original clutch and 175000 miles mines is only at 80000 and so far has been perfect plan on keeping it a long time.

(EC is codes) ( MT is Manual Trans) and so on.

I have a couple of fault codes following the MOT test today - possibly due to the brake testiing they do Anyway have C1140 steering angle sensor - seen that before and normally turning steering from lock to lock sorts that. Other code is C1141 which I havent seen before. Carsoft software says ESP brake pressure sensor Open-circuitshort-circuit verify the tension (voltage) at the brake pressure sensor

Could it be the sensor on the brake servo body Who did the MOT test - did they do it with the ASP off

Ill check that sensor - I have cleared the fault with the multiplexor need to take car back out to see if cleared or flags again.. It was D&G Livingston that tested it - very much doubt ESP switched off dont think it has for any previous MOT..

FIAT PUNTO Newbie Help with fault codes.

fuel trim i would assume maybe either lambda sensor air leak air sensor fault maybe a fuse problemwiring just a check of all the usual basics is always good such as spark plugs and the like the other code i think has something to do with the immobiliser CAN system

Taking my car in to get a Star Diagnostic report done as part of chasing down ASR gremlins. Just interested to know what the product is that I should receive and if there are multiple versions or specific things I should request. My sense is that these reports are primarily for internal use by the tech so want to make sure that what I get is usable understandable and covers all the areas of potential trouble. Thanks

So I went back to an indy I found who said hed charge 50. The stealership will do it but wants 120. Unfortunately the indy had some type of problem and said the system was not pulling up the detailed codes I needed. He was getting a connection error of some type. But he suggested I try another Mercedes place not too far away. So I went there cash in hand ready to pay for it. When I explained what had happended the guy commented that the prior guy probably had a Chinese machine but he had a real Star Diagnostic machine. So I thought Id be in good shape. But once I explained to the guy that I just wanted to get the codes read and would DIY the repairs he said not interested. So I left. Business must be good for BMI Mercedes Repair since they can turn away a new and prospective future customer. But to validate that Im going down the right path I assume the Star Diagnostic readout should tell me if Im getting any of the atttached fault codes which then seem like theyd indicate which sensor is faulty

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE cranks and sputters.

HiMy 4.0 l6 sputters when i attempt to start and cuts off instantly.It started with Intermittent Crank sensor and injector 1 fault codes.It then died completely. Change sensor with FEBI and problem went from intermittent to all the time. Traced wiring to SCB and ECU all wiring seems good. All STAR codes say check sensorcheck sensor spacing check rotor. Thanks 71 340 for the schematics. Suad0007 there is a thick wire that is right behind the drivers side head light that leads directly into the condenser. Cant remember the colors but I clamped the wires and ran the pos neg back to the battery in the trunk to jump the condenser. Hrmmmm...maybe the fuel pump picked up some junk in the bottom of the tank when it was low. If the filter is somewhat plugged that could be giving you some grief. Sounds like dealership time - maybe a fuel system flush.... If the check engine light is still on they should be able to tell you what fault code caused it.

Why does my AC clutch relay code keep coming up I dont have AC. Also my Battery under voltage code comes up too but my bat. has 12 V.

Maybe I should have directly asked the question that I really needed answered. Does anyone know how to reset the transmission from limp mode Subby youve done as much or more to your car as anyone else here since I joined nine years ago....do you know how to clear a limp mode Anyone thanks jeff

In other words - theres nothing that you can do yourself at home The transmission fault codes need to be read (and rectified) before the LH mode can be reset using diagnostic test equipment.
