That should throw a ratio too lean code too. I think Rusty said slightly too rich because thats how our O2 sensors can show signs of failing before total failure. Total failures give a specific code for the failure and the fuel trims become immaterial to the diagnosis. Fortunately or unfortunately the timeframe from failing to total failure is relatively short. They just crap out and specific fault

AUDI A4 B5 codes 16795 & 17536 - turbo problems

Hey all Im rather new to this site so bear with me. Ive had problems with my 2000 a4 1.8t since I bought it in 2006. Back then I would get codes to flash up and then they would dissappear again almost as soon as they came. About after a month or so the check engine light came on and stayed on so I bought an engine reader (one for vwaudi only). The first codes I got were 17536 Long term fuel trim too

A messed up maf will give all the problems the OP had except for the 2ndary air flow fault. Thats either a bad air pump leak in the pumps plumbing or bad combi valve. I wouldnt worry much about that one. As for the DV vac line on 00 they dont hook right up to the intake mani like AEB engines. When I did mine on my 00 I taped the hose onto a wire hanger and fed it through under the intake mani in order

VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT B5 B5.5 Hidden MAF and Air Filter

Hello Ive spent the last two nights reading and searching Passat World. Ive never really joined a forum but I felt like it was about time thanks for having me. That being said let me get on to what Ive been working on. Ive got a used 2001 1.8t made in April so it was one of the first AWM engines. Here is an Update I had a bad vacuum hose replaced (Thanks for the Help PZ) ---One of the nicest guys on this forum. I all so replaced my O2 sensor I dont feel bad throwing money at the O2 sensor because from what all Ive read these should be replaced any ways about every 100000 so mine was up for a new one. All so I know every one has people they like to buy from but I got a pretty good deal on Ebay Motor on the O2 sensor. Next I picked up a VW Diagnostic tool off Amazon. The model number is U280. Its super simple but it works and gives me codes. Since I dont have a working lap top right now that was the best bet to keep me from going to auto zone when ever my car starts throwing codes. After driving around for about a week Im still throwing that (17536P1128004392 - Fuel Trim Bank 1 (Mult) System too Lean) so after cleaning my my MAF I guess the next move is just going to be to replace the whole thing with a new one. Any thoughts Also Ol Ross Tech says it might be a Fuel Injector(s) faulty. I guess its time to start hunting the forums for Fuel Injector Info. Wish me luck
