scrappy a few quid as most.its under the drivers wing. remove the wheel liner and you can get good access to it.easy job. does the pump make any noise at all just thjere known to leak so worth checking the fluid isnt leaking away if the pumps running
Theres no noise at all when pulling the stalk....sounds like a dead pump
Before dashing off and buying stuff check the continuity at the plug for the washer motor. Ive seen a couple of dodgy earths down there. Cheers D
fiat doblo van vreg 99 has the same washer pumps iirc try fiat . also its just the rubber rings on the pumps and are interchangable. where are your originals i cheated becuase i was skint and used instant gasket but i suppose any silicone sealant would work. did for me.

On a 2002 Seicento there was a single bi-directional pump with a directional valve as I described in my reply yesterday. The main agent tried to sell us a new bottle with two pumps at an exorbitant price. The reason why the single pump just squirts the back when the directional valve fails is because the front screen washers have four jets there is less back-pressure resistance than there is with the
Sorry for my silence.. ive had another problem with my car over the past week which needed priority and have been without my car for a week Today i checked the pump out its covered in rust so no surprise it doesnt work I swapped the rubber tubes around the front worked the back didnt just as suspected I then swapped over the electric cables after some testing through a small bulb circuit the motor
Seicento s 2002 with a single pump and only one washer working. This might be a simple way of fixing this problem. I just pulled apart the black and white valve (that hangs under the pump) and removed the small rubber plunger put it back together again and I had lovley front and back washers again. That made me think that the plunger was a needless design complication. Yes I know the little devil might try and equalise pressures but I certainly didnt need it
I hope this adds to all the information at least. I have found that the fiat manual is wrong about the wiring for the washer pump. Both wires that go to it are greenblack and pinkblack respecivly. Those 2 wires go all the way to the stalk switch which you operate with your RIGHT HAND. No earth wire is connected directly to the pump as shown in the manual page. I think the reason for this is to drive
Have you tried powering the pump up by itself if not do it and if you get nothing just replace and the cause could be sludge build up in the bottom of the washer bottle so when you have the pumps out just poring lots of hot clean water thru the filler and it should dislodge it all and flush it out but keep repeating till you get crystal clear water coming out otherwise you will end up with same problem
Do they changed the pump and the water tank or just the pump
Well the mechanic said the tank and pump was all one unit hope that helps.
Bodge. e.g. if the pump will still flow water freely splice any generic pump into the tubing down stram of the pump. Had to do that manys a time... or get a generic pump that will nearly fit into current hole and RTV bath tub cauk it in place. Oodles of ways to skin a cat. Noel

Will it pass well that depends on the tester really. As a general rule anything thats fitted to a car needs to work ie you dont need a reversing light but if its fitted it needs to work so you can assume that its the same for rear washer (not all cars have them). But theres a very good chance that it could pass as it is no one for sure can say if it will or wont pass .
Took it for the test this morning & unfortunately for me it did fail and the pump was one of the points. Think Ill start a new thread for advice on the other points I really dont wanna be replacing a knackered pump with one from a scrappy besides which scrapped Cinqs seem few & far between in my area. Ive had a quick gander on Shop4Parts but come up with nothing. Anybody know a good source for a new
httpwww.motuk.co.ukmanual_820.htm It only applies to the windscreen not the rear screen. I removed my rear wiper and washer altogether though it still have the switch on the stalk and it passed fine. Kristian

Cheers mate. Just to make sure is the pump the white plasticy thing below the water reserviour Do i pull it downwards It seems pretty solidly stuck to the bottom of the reserviour Where is best place to purchase the pump And how much Thanks Mikey
Cinq has two pumps one for front one for rear Sei has one pump. Access is by removing the driver side front wheelarch liner but well skip the forensics for now. Most likely cause (well assume the pump mechanism is OK) is that the one way valve has gone down. These are hard little plastic valves plugged into the washer tube -- IIRC the one for the front is near the bonnet stay. The system should work

Ive found that the SPI pumps have 3 wires on the plug whereas the MPI ones have 2 wires. Obviously if the plugs have already been removed then that cancels that method of investigation . Thanks X
If it was MPI it would be easier as theres only one pump. SPI have two visually identical pumps. One does the front one does the back. Incidentally its the back one thats not working but when i get to the washer the battery will have been removed so cant test although i suppose i can follow the hoses to see where they go

Some one may have swaped any two off the cable plugs or the pumps or the hoses. And the factory may not heve been too careful.... Noel
Hi Cheers Fingers only place I could find washer pumps in UK(for anyone looking) was Justfiat.co.uk getting hard to source parts for these cars.
fiat doblo vans from 1999ish use the same washers. these are availible from fiat seperatly unlike seicento ones. obviously early cinqs also have the same motors assuming you have two.
thanks for your replies. i found a rover 400 washer pump in my shed it only had one outlet but i found a threeway connector the plug was different so i cut the connector off the rover and attached spades to the wires plugged it in to the original just in case i manage to get a proper one. so far so good.
