Answers and questions: fiat multipla front door
The car had been stood for a couple of years and the exterior
door handles will not go back down when opened unless you push them down I need to lubricate them from the inside but dont know how to remove the
door panels without maybe damaging them Can anyone please help Cheers.
Okay pop off the speaker grill (carefully fiat plastic trim is fragile Seems to be a little bit more brittle than other makes). Undo the retaining screws remove the speaker and unclip the connector. Undo the bolts holding the door handle plastic module and remove the handle from the wire locking rod. disconnect the electric window switch and this should separate from the panel. Get a very thin screwdriver
Just finished removing the passenger door fitting went well got a bit stumped trying to remove the handle itself from the rod I got it off eventually and assume the clip you mention is the 90 degree plastic clip at the end of the rod If not then it wasnt on. Anyway all cleaned up and replaced and working like a treat As I was on dinner duties tonight I shall complete the other three tomorrow Again many thanks
on I obviously cant see what Im doing as I have to put my arm in. I sort of had it once but when I closed the door it opened slightly and then wouldnt open again. I have to get in through the passenger door now but that too has gone on me but rather than the arm coming out with the handle I am unable to connect the handle correctly to the arm which is in place......Should I just take it to a fiat
It gone from bad to worse..I have managed to snap the passenger front door exterior handle trying to attach it to the actuator arm......down tools time.......
Hello. Just convinced my wife a
multipla was the way forward and got one 2 weeks ago. Id been after one for a while but she needed convincing due to the individual styling. But shes chuffed to bits with it and so am I. Its a well looked after FFSH 1 owner low mileage car and after giving it a good service of all the basics Im in the process of starting to fix a couple of niggling bitty faults. I fixed
fix a couple of niggling bitty faults. I fixed the front interior light pod last weekend (usual sticking of switches dodgy connections etc) but I still cant get the interior lights to switch on when I open the nearside rear door. It also doesnt indicate on the dash as a door open so I presume the door switch isnt working. Problem is I cant see an obvious switch in the door post etc as on older fiats
Has anybody replaced these 3M decals on the
multipla doorframes as I have a straight rectangular sticker from
fiat for a curved frame on
front door
Problem 1 A new
door has been installed with new second hand window and guidance and so on. The window used to run all the way down or up when i holded the buttons for a second or two. After the installation i have to keep pushing the buttons till i reach a wanted position. So now it wont run all the way down or up anymore when i push or pull the button for a couple of seconds. For as far as i know
Ive got an 07 year
multipla now in its 3rd year of warranty and the
door seals have started coming off the
doors The drivers one is well on its way off and when I checked the others at least 2 more are unstuck in places. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know if the 3rd year warranty will cover me to get this repaired What a strange way of fitting
door seals...they appear to have been glued on Thanks all
I have a 2001 multipla and live in Portugal. My door rubbers are just starting to come off in fact the drivers door one has totally split now but as my car is 11 years old I would like to replace them does anyone know where I can buy new ones. I need both front door rubbers rear doors are fine.
The
front passenger
door on our
multipla has dropped. Almost certainly the top hinge but it looks like half the near side of the car needs to be stripped to gain access to the hinges. Can anyone help or advise me please
Unsure if my thread prefix is correct apologies if wrong. I would be grateful if anyone can help me please. I locked the
doors of my
multipla as usual using the central locking key. It unlocked with no problem on my return but then the
door light came up saying that a
door was open. I checked all
doors and boot and all were closed properly. This will not clear which means the car will no longer lock.
Hi widemouthfrog is ace on here and I reckon hes right - two unrelated problems. Re the airbag light Im 62 and my wifes 52. Our airbag light was always on as the drivers seat was constantly being moved back and forth a good way. Lots of duck tape keeping the wireconnection under the drivers seat securetight to the seat frame fixed this for us. Re the door open light on the dash I understand (Im no

I got into the car this morning and just as I closed the
door I thought somebody tried to assassinate me - one of the
front springs snapped. These springs were replaced by
fiat as part of the recall three years ago. A friend of mine who is a mechanic will be fitting two new springs sometime this week
Hi all Do faceliftnosejob Multi
doors fit early ones I have a roundnose early Multi which needs a new rear passenger side
door and someone is breaking an early facelift version nearby on EBay Was it just the
front they changed or the sides too Thanks
Im sure there was a thread where someone had a similar problem but I cant find it. My
multipla has developed an annoying problem. 9 times out of 10 when you unlock the car with the key the
doors unlock and then they immediatly lock themselves again. You have to do the locking motion and locking motion several times before they stay unlocked. Holding the key in the unlock position sometimes works in
Thanks for all your advice. I seem to have cured it but not sure what was the problem. I cleaned and lubricarted all door latches took off the the front door cards and lubricated moving parts and wd40d the door lock buttons. This also cured the tailgate not wanting to open with either the button on the boot or button by handbrake.
The lock is different on the nosejob the front ns door lock failed and I got an ugly bug lock from a scrappy. The door open microswitch is incorporated in the new lock whereas its not in the old lock. Its a bit of slog to get the old lock out anyway so having done it Im going to live with a non operative switch on one door. FWIW lock barrel is relatively easy to get out which hopefully is the only part youll need if you go for the door option.
does a car become unreliable. Reliability index polls take into account such things as door not opening annoying yes but in no way a measure of the cars ability to let you downleave you stranded This is a argument we have had many times on the forum one of the forum members is actually a part of these reliability polls and if you strip them right down to (what I believe) a actual breakdown fiats
Please help my electric
front windows are stuck down 1.6 2004. All other electrics work i have check and replaced fuses under glove box checked fuses under bonnet taken battery off for 5 minutes and taken

Hello Where are the
front crossovers to split audio to the
doorstweeters Im thinking of getting a new component system and want to use the supplied crossovers. Thanks
Hi This may seem like a strange question but does anyone know how to adjust the centre seat of an 07
multipla My previous car was an 05 and it had a rail that I lifted up to move the seat backwards and forwards.... I cant see any way to adjust it and its quite far back for the rear passengers to fit in.. Any help much appreciated
I just recently bought a very cheap 2001 the front seat would not fold down so armed with a hammer a wooden block and a star spanner I freed it works a treat now trouble is the back door rattles like fk adjusted it but it still does it...are these cars infuriating or endearing
Good morning I am new to the forum and on Sunday I should be picking up an 04 plate facelift
multipla. Someone put a brick through the drivers window that smashed the grey plastic trim on the
door card and the electric window switch. Can anyone tell me if I buy a different colour
door card off ebay can I easily remove the coloured bit so I can just replace the grey bit so the original coloured part of the
door card stays the same Thanks in advance.
Plenty of advice on here about airbag light First places to check are orange connectors under front seats (undo spray with contact cleaner push back together) if no joy then the one that did fixed my airbag light was the orange one on the rear driver side light cluster- pop off the trim undo connector clean put back together Good luck
Hey Any one knows how to take out the
front-middle seat in order to replace a cable Thanks Itamar

Please can someone tell me where to find My Chassis Number on my
fiat multipla I have searched the entire car I think
front door frames and
doors under bonnet under carpet in boot no where to be found HELP need to get parts for it and need it. not on my car document either where it says Chassis number only gives a short 8 number thanks in advance Karen
Ok before more established members get huffy whats this newbie owner on about First Impressions are just that once you get used to a car theyre not possible. So previous car was a Citroen 3 litre petrol engined V6 Exclusive Auto Estate which Id owned for 3 years and used as my regular car. Last drive in it was from Kirriemuir to Chester where I left it for its new owner and picked up the
multipla.

I would be most grateful if anyone has any ideas regarding this I have recently purchased the CD on how to repair a multipla i just need to know where to start Thanks in advance Pat If its a factory fit Alarm it may be the unit itself that has failed. According to fiat its behind the front bumper. I suspect the front Bumper will have to be removed to get at it.

Hi Guys.
multipla 1.9 jdt 110 2001 The airbag light has started to come on - both red and yellow intermittent for a while now permanent. went to check wiring under passenger seat and there is nothing there even removed complete seat and no wiring at all. Couldnt see anything under middle seat either except for seat belt switch. Am I looking in the wrong place Thanks Gez
Check your passenger seat for the airbag tag - sometimes its sewn in to the seam of the backrest side bolster near the door pillarseat belt. If its not there you probably dont have side airbags. Im not sure what date they were fitted from. The other airbag that can flag the fault youre talking about is the one in the dashboard in front of the passenger seat. Have a look at this thread httpwww.fiatforum.commultipla32...-sensor-3.html
Hi First post here but I have just taken our
multipla in for its 24k service. I checked the tyres and to my horror found that the inside edge of the
fronts were down to the wires Known problem with the camber that the dealer did not admit to . The other woes include Sticky residue running down inside boot hatch. Airbag warning light (also common it seems ) The tricky problem is the black plastic tape
My partner has experienced on two occasions parking the car leaving the handbrake on only to find it someone else when she returns. I can only guess handbrake failure the rear pads have just be refitted and problem occured again garage said handbrake looks ok and it passed its MOT does anyone else have experience of this problem
Does your multipla have rear disc brakes (Some did for a while and then they reverted to drums like the earlier models for some reason). A disc brake gets hot very quickly. If the handbrake is applied when the discs are hot as they cool (and contract) the brake pads are not pressed so tightly against the disc. This used to be a real problem to the drivers of Citroens esp the BX like I had where the

Hi Im hoping someone can help Ive never posted before but have read posts on the forum for a while. Had the
multipla for a couple of years now. Here goes.. I have an 04 Multi and plan to upgrade the speakers and head unit this weekend. I also have a subwoofer to add but am going to see how the easy bits go before taking that on... Ive been reading the new head unit (Pioneer DEH-3300UB) installation
Oblong sounds like youve nailed the sound system in the multipla. Ive just acquired one for a European rally in a few monta and desperately need some good tunes in there. Ive replaced the head unit and the 17cm speakers in the front door. But would love some advice regarding the tweeters rear door speakers and potentially adding a small bass unit. What have you used as replacements Any recommendations for a suitable small woofer All advice appreciated greatly. Tim
I won my
multipla on Ebay 2 weeks ago. We love the carhowever I have possibly a silly question. Every now and then we get a bleep which could best be described as a bleep like a mico wave finishing. No error messages or lights. Just either a single or double beep from in
front of the driver It seeems to come at random times Can anyone suggest what it is. Cheers - Pete
that handbrakes are supposed to be on or off . Mind you a light should come on in the instrument cluster too. It did bleep a lot once just before the alternator packed up - a warranty job thankfully Normally the dash display will flash a message when the computer bleeps. Have you got a manual for your multi It might say something in there. Cheers Lee Originally Posted by kawasakikz1 I won my multipla

My rear electric window has got stuck down. the one on the other side will not move up or down so I take it that the fuse has gone or something like that. Have checked the users manual which has been a great help. Any one know which fuse it might be. The book says it is a 25amp fuse but seems very vague as to which one as the diagram does not match what I am looking at. Also is there any way I can at least shut it for the time being ie manual wind system carl
Its possible that either the fuse or relay has failed. However I didnt think that fiat would fuse each window separately. Usually the fronts would share the same fuse and I wouldnt be surpised if the fronts shared the same fuse as the rears (althopugh possibly not if the lower range models have manual windows in the back) Anyroad enough of the waffling. It may also be that the window has come off its
Hello people Just over an hour ago I was towing my daughters Citroen ZX on a rigid link on the A90 Forfar bypass when a truck pulled out in
front of me. Long story short tail wagged the dog and I was pushed into a lamp post. Truck didnt stop but luckily there was a reliable witness who gave his details to the Police. Nobody got the trucks number but it seems pretty clear that the accident was his fault.........
