MAZDA 6 I GG GY glowing pre-cats

I still have the random misfire now i have bogging problem at low RPMs in 3rd and 4th gear... the Car also shit on me a coupe times at a red light - i stepped on it to beat some ss riding down the shoulder and the car stayed at 2k rpm bogged and then a few seconds later finally took off. Last night i had a sulfur smell opened the hood and the front a rear pre cats were glowing red the Dashhawk shows

I unplugged 2 spark plugs on my mom&39s 1985 4 cyl peugot and after driving around for 1 mile the cats were glowing bright red and and got clogged probably because the inside melted. Had to get replacements. The discoloration looks cool I think. Reminds me of the Mclaren F1&39s catalytic converter. httpwww.rogueengineering.comMerchant2...haust_small.jpg QUOTE (mazda6sMtx

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Spark Plug Gap is it .044 or .051-.057

Hi Guys Im half way done changing the plugs on my 2006 mazda 6 3.0L. I bought the Motorcraft SP-479 plugs. So the How To Change Spark plugsthread says to gap the plugs at .044 but my car manual says the gap should be .051-.057. Conflicting info which one should I follow I already installed 3 plugs with the owners manual recommendations before I stopped to write this. Please help

Ive searched around and cant find the original plugs for the 03 mazda6.

Quote Thanks for the info gonna change the plugs then take it to a local mechanic who said he could test the back pressure for 30. See what happens after all this the car has a little over 70k on it so it could be cats.[b] I&39ve heard an easy way to see if they cats are clogged is to drive the car for a bit and get it good and hot then stop and look at the cats if one is glowing red or getting orange it&39s clogged.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Reverse glow gauges

I found some reverse glow gauges from procarparts.com They&39d look sweet since they&39d be blue but how much would it cost to install them They come with everything needed but just have to be installed. here&39s the link procarparts.com Anyone hear or have these yetThey&39re only like 45 dollars too so i dunno

gotta hold cluster at a downward ange so needles fall to natral resting place and remember where they fell or coolant will be 215 on cold start and idle at 4k if you botch the needles don&39t put clear cover on just plug in and turn car on and adjust needles as needed

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Electroluminescent Gauge Cluster Plug and Play

What&39s up guys I bought a Electroluminescent gauges cluster to replace my plain jane one. Is it plug and play or should I expect some whacky needle movements And has anyone find out if there is a way to reset the odometer yet My dealer didn&39t want to have anything to do with me switching gauges but wanted to charge me 100 for the install. I figured it won&39t be hard to get the thing out and replaced... but 100 for a 10 minute job

you guys are talking about a total replacement of the whole gauge cluster correct not the overlays like the reverse glow gauges

Hi All First of all I&39m profoundly sorry for posting my thread here as a newbie I shouldn&39t have but if I post it in the newbie section I understand I will not get an answer for my problem. I&39m having a mazda 6 2005 2.0 Automatic transmission gasoline model and have done 17800 KM and lately I&39m having problem to start the car when the engine is cold especialy in the morning every time when

Well first off do you have an engine block heater If not go buy yourself one and use it Diesel engines HATE cold starts and commonly experience the symptoms you describe because of this. If the block heater fails you your next option would be to check the glowplugs and the glowplug controller. EDIT Just noticed you said they changed the sparkplugs... did you mean glowplugs[b] Hi Thank you My M6

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Craaaaap

I bought a 2004 mazda6 with the V6 in it that was blown. I put in a new motor with a slew of other new tidbits. I put about 500 miles on it and it ran amazing...I love it what a great car and its a wagon. I parked it for about a week started it up lost all accelaration shuttered at speed downshifting while trying to maintain 55mph. I pulled over and the front header was glowing red. Sat and let it

Without a cat - A vacuum leak makes them lean and VERY HOT usually engine but can transfer to the exhaust and make it glow. Never seen a lean cat glow. Retarded ignition timing will lead to unburned gas burning in the exhaust glowing exhaust. With heavy detonation from spark knock the ECM would throttle the engine back to protect and retard the crap out of the timing. With a cat - Raw gas into a CAT

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Smoke

I have a mazda6 turbo diesel. When I accelerate hard I get a plume of dark smoke from the exhaust. I used to get the same in an old Saab 9-3 diesel. What is this likely to be and is there a remedy

Not the same as above but if I put my car in the garage overnight OK. But if I leave it on the drive which means that the front is pointing slightly down hill I get a big puff of blue smoke on initial starting in the morning. Any Ideas I don&39t think the oil consumption has increased much but I will now keep a closer eye on the levels. Power is as good as ever still get a big turbo surge when required. Could it be a weak glow plug or something more sinister Perhaps I will try to park it outside but level to eliminate options. mazda 6 134 diesel 62k miles.

Quote It would be nearly impossible to cross the wires as they are tethered to the harness pretty tightly but your point makes sense. As far as the backfires go -- they ONLY seem to happen at WOT under full boost conditions. I can accelerate to 6 K (slowly wo hitting boost) with no adverse events. MAZDA 6 I GG GY Car jerks when warm and low rpms

Recently my 05 has been jerking when accelerating at low rpms below 2000 if I put the car in tiptronic and downshift increasing the rpms the jerking goes away. No steady check engine light but it has come on and flashed when jerking only twice. Im thinking it could be a bad coil causing misfire. It only does it when the engine is warm as soon as its halfway to normal operating temperature it does it. Also it is an autocrapic. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Replaced the front three and lucky me its still doing the same thing so Im assuming it is one of the back three. I did notice the plug for cylinder four had some oil so I guess Ill need a new valve cover gasket eventually it was just a drop but the plug looked pretty bad. They all did. It did seem a little peppier when I took it for a spin. But as soon as it got up to temp and I went to accelerate

I put XP103s in or was it 104s (IDR) the quality of the plug is an issue for me. It has flashing from the stamping process which can glow in the combustion chamber causing detonation and reduce the timing. You get what you pay for. Plus the ground strap was so short it didnt allow the ground plane to be a true 90 degrees to the electrode. NOT IMPRESSED I like Denso products over NGK and ANY Bosch product.

FIAT 500 II 1.3 multijet diesel ignition start up issues

Hi guys First post on the forum and its going to be about a problem by the look it Just bought a fantastic second hand 08 500 1.3 multijet diesel with 15k on the clock however ive noted an issue when I start up the car especially when its not been used for 12 hours. When I turn on the ignition the engine ticks over for a good 2 seconds before kicking into life. Although no warning lights pop up ive

My Qubo does the same thing with the same engine. Just do what pearce_jj said - turn on the ignition and wait 2 or 3 seconds before cranking the engine. The m-jet 1.3 does seem to need a couple of seconds for the glow plugs to warm up when the engine is cold. Never had this delay with my mazda or Vauxhall diesels so it came as a bit of a shock to me too. Ive never had the flashing mileage or error message though - it just takes 2 seconds before it fires up.

I have now seen a few people mention that their engines failed. It is good to centralize this information so that we can see failure modes emerge as patterns. This will help inform the community of the common issues so that we can address or be aware of them. So if you blew your motor fill in the information below with as much detail as possible. The more details the better but keep your personal information

The integrated exhaust manifold must absorb a lot of heat. Exhaust manifolds generally glow red under boost but that would melt the aluminum in this case. That heat goes directly into the cooling system and into the head which is also responsible for cooling the spark plugs. This motor likely runs very hot and the small hot side of the turbo doesnt help. Every motor has a weak spot. With the mazdaspeeds
