MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 S600 M275 Cylinder head (PCV system) question

Tracking down an oil consumption plug fouling and misfire issue has led me to remove the pressure valve that diverts the crank case ventilation from the driver side oil separator to either the right manifold (partial load) or the charge air intake (full load). I discovered the diaphram inside the valve is completely disintegrated. Upon further investigation it looks like the seal ring that surrounds

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS G Cylinder head Gasket for Brabus G3.6

A friend of mine has a G3.6 Brabus tune. He needs a cylinder head gasket to replace. The original motor is 300GE but something must have done on it. I dont know what Brabus did to the normal 300GE engine. If somebody has any information on Brabus G3.6 please let me know. Best regards Tomo

have tried this job now several times and that keeps the gasket from blowing betwin the cylinders period. You will gain a litle bigger compresion but thats no problem just dont ever use less than the high octane 99 from Shell V-Power then their will never be a problem. So when ever you need to change the headgasket on a 3.6 Brabus M103 or M104 only use the AMG EC 36 AMG head gasket witch has the mercedes

Id leave the heads on as there wouldnt be any damage done to them if some oil was getting burnt from leaking value stem seals - its only a problem when they burn lots of oil and you run out of oil We have a magna as well as the 420 and from what Ive read about them you run the risk of running out of oil really quickly when the value stem seals go on them Not sure about the 600 though But if it was

Hi Merc After reading more about this heads off looks to be the way to go Valve Stem Seal Replacement That 600 appears to have a better history than that 600 in Melbourne and price wise I know which way I would go also if its been sitting for yonks it could be that the seals have shrunk a bit allowing oil into the cylinders - perhaps carefully drive it for awhile if you get it and see how it goes -

MB says not to use magnets to remove the lifters as it can magnetise the lifter itself attracting metallic particles and increasing wear. They recommend a suction cup. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 Cylinder Head - 606 Turbo Diesel

Im finishing the job on removing and installing the cylinder head in my 99 E-class 606 Turbo Diesel. The culprit is a stuck glow plug in the 4 cylinder. Let me tell you this is the second one that I have done for the same reason Stuck glow plugs. My advice is to remove all glow plugs annually clean them reinstall with anti-sieze paste. The problem seems to be that they carbon up and freeze in the head.

Had to remove cylinder head a 606 td. Prior to removing i checked the timing it was out by less than 1 deg.. Marked the timing chain and sprocket with paint. Once the head was removed i wheeled the pistons through several times to check cylinder walls etc.. All perfect. Also had a valve job while the head was off. Got the head back on aligned the gears and tagged it with the bolt. Then proceeded and

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 Bad Glow Plug - Pulling Cylinder Head

Well it happened again. I have a dead glow plug 4 cylinder in my 99 E300. Went to change them they all unthreaded except that one. Very very stuck. A few squirts with Blaster rocking it back and forth it finally budged. Probably broke in the engine. I probably stripped the threads too. Oh well Im almost through pulling the head. To the machine shop I go. Had the very same problem on my 95 E300. Had

Ive walked several people through the process of removing the cylinder head for a machine shop to remove the glow plugs They dont seize at the threads but down inside where they seal with the prechamber seat. Removing them every year or so will keep them from freezing up. Drilling them out with the head on the car is nonsense.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS C I 202 Rebuilding my cylinder headengine

Hey everyone so i have been thinking about this for a while. I have a misfire on cylinder 4 and 6. I also have the shutoff of valve secondary air injection code. I believd this to be due to burnt or bent valves. Ive also been getting a knock from the rear of the head. Seeming like it comes from cylinder six. Ive switched and replaced coil packs new plugs. Nothing So ive came to the conclusion i should

Before you tear anything apart have you thought of running a compression test on all cylinders How many miles on your motor Carbon is going to be present and their are a lot of products out their to help remove some of this build up. Now for a shop to charge 175 for a head rebuild That seems way cheap. I paid a lil over 400 head resurfaced new valve seals. That was without haveing to replace any valves.

Not for sure on a specific test for checking piston rings other than a visual look and see. Not to say their isnt a way. From all my research in doing my head gasket replacement the 104 block is pretty much bullet proof. If you do pull the head and the 4 cylinder wall is all scarred up yeah Id say bad rings. But if the 4 cylinder walls look smooth and unscarred have the head checked. My head was warped and all the valves leaked. Good luck.

If you still are unsure of the valves I suggest doing a leak down test in addition to the compression test. I am in the process of rebuilding the head on my 111 I did a compression test first and found the number two cylinder to be down about 30psi compared to the rest. The leakdown test revealed the other three cylinders to have about 5% or less leakage and the number two cylinder about 50%. The advantage

Ya Im glad you brought that up. I did a compression test as you saw above and it came back Normal but I still should do that. I might have to put a bit of my car back together though lol. How much did you end up paying for the work on your head I called a shop a couple weeks back and they said they could do it for about 170 or something with new seals and everything. Ive heard other people say they

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement

Hi Guys Does anyone have any DIY info on this repair I have a leak that I would like to tackle next weekend and wanted to know what parts tools accessories and procedure I should use. Im especially looking for a How to. Alos are there other gaskets andor seals I should replace when tackling this Thanks in advance for your responses. TennisGuy

It can be used for that. A real compression test can only be done with a Whistler Tool. It will actually give real compression numbers. Mostly used in the race engine world. The compression test done it shops is more of a leak down test. A good cylinder wall and ring sealing will hold a pressure much more consistently than one that is toast but it will never give the actual compression ratio. All that

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S I 116 Engine Cylinder Head Swap

Hi I got a 1980 300SD and I am looking to restore it. As my mechanic opened the engine we found out that the head has a dent and needs to be replaced. Ive found one but it is from W126. Basically I am wandering if we can fit the head from the W126 (OM617.951) to my W116 (OM617.950). This is what I found on the net OM617.950 - 3.0l inline-5 turbocharged 110hp used between 1978 and 1980. Note that this

I am not completely sure but it has something to do with the destroyed gasket. Gasket has failed long ago and the previous owner did not pay much attention. Engine was burning water and blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. Car has been converted to run on veggie oil but the system havent been used much. I am not sure if the car is worth restoring anymore but yet I will try to find a good cylinder

Yes it is availble from DCAG but not from MBUSA. At 1900 my cylinder head buy it now price is less than 25% of that price for the same new part. Listed availability from DCAG is not 100% reliable.
